I hope everyone had a fun and safe night of Halloween parties and trick-or-treating!

It's rare enough that I submit a deviation... but two on the same day?! (well, within 24 hours, at least)

I'm a big fan of shoujo works (maybe not as much as I used to be... I ran out of good ones to read after awhile), and this started out as a doodle of an unhappy highschool girl... maybe one who just saw her crush hanging out with another girl at the train station. Heartbroken, she slowly retreats behind one of the columns and smiles faintly to herself, thinking, "it was just wishful thinking on my own part." No tears fall, but that doesn't mean she isn't hurt...

Okay I'll stop with the dramatic narrative, but please enjoy the drawing : )

/sidenote: I really enjoy using openCanvas simply because everything's so simplified. It's true that Photoshop offers a considerably larger range of tools and functions, but the program itself is really bulky. openCanvas also has some interesting tools like the screentone/pattern options that are available with just one click. I know Photoshop has them too, but I definitely find it easier to use in openCanvas (despite lack of flexibility).
